How to sell for bitcoin online?
Online businesses have been growing in big numbers and there are few people who took advantage of them and they’ve been able to make a killing out of them.
Every time when you talk about online business most people think of scams and or crazy high return investments, but is actually is not entirely so. An online business can be similar to an offline business, depending on how you treat it.
What’s good about selling stuff online is that you can decide for yourself what kind of products you want to sell, physical or digital, surely digital stuff move faster than physical because there’s no shipping involved.
With physical products you could have to meet the buyer in person in some cases, this is only good if you are in the same area of location, and also if the product is too large there might be documents that needs verification.
Selling stuff online for bitcoins is not different from selling stuff online for regular money.
The method is the same you just find a platform that accepts bitcoin, list your item for sale and set the price then promote the product. If the platform is well established then that’s much better.
Bitcoin is a bit different than the normal centralized payment processors like PayPal, it is decentralized and it might seem to be untrustworthy by other people, and is know as a peer to peer system.
Well there’s what we call Escrow, which is use to hold funds and let the translation go smooth, with Escrow the buy has to send the funds to Escrow, then Escrow will hold those funds until until the buyer agrees that they have received the funds from the seller then Escrow will release those those funds.
So Escrow acts as the middle man between the buyer and the seller, so is highly recommended that you use it when you sell for bitcoin.
This applies to bitcoin as well, when you sell for bitcoin or buy stuff on online. There are few Escrow services that you can use. When using a Escrow service there might be fees that you might have to pay, sometimes the fees could apply for both the buyer and the seller, the percentage can be 0% or 1% or whatever percentage charged by the escrow.
Some of them Escrow services might not be trust worthy so you might want to research them before using them.
Here are some of the Escrow I found online, some of them via BitcoinTalk:
Escrowmybits: they charge a 1 percent fee for all transactions ans they also give you an option to split the fee with the other party, which means both you as a seller and a buyer will pay 0.5%
Escrowmybits offers 4 types of Escrow services
- Regular Escrow: You deposit your funds into a bitcoin address controlled by us and the funds are forwarded to cold storage.
- Regular Escrow pegged to fiat value: You deposit into a bitcoin address controlled by Coinapult and Coinapult pegs the value to a fiat or asset value
- Mutli-Signature Escrow: Your funds are kept in a secure 2 of 3 multi-signature transaction where we hold only one key
- Multi-Signature Escrow pegged to a fiat value: Your funds are kept in a secure 2 of 3 multi-signature transaction using Omni(mastercoin) or Nubits to peg the value
Bitrated.com: This one seems to be one of the trusted bitcoin escrows, most people recommend it.
Monbux: I also found this one on BitcoinTalk, I don’t much about it, all I know it that it charges 0 percent fee.
One important thing is keeping a clean reputation as a seller so that you find more customers.
Keep track of all the items you sell, including the documents that verify that you have delivered the item and pictures of the item in case the buyer says they didn’t receive the item or the item was damage.
You can sell your stuff for bitcoin Bitify, they accept many products including digital products. This is the platform that allows you to sell for bitcoins and it recommends Escrow service.
If you don’t want to sell for bitcoins you could look at other ways to earn bitcoins such as crypto currency trading or revshares.
